The Jacob “Jake†Rakofsky Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Jacob “Jake†Rakofsky. He was a sophomore at Texas State, studying Geography when he tragically lost his life. But life was something Jake celebrated. He was generous with his heart and enriched others with his energy, his laughter, his smile, his compassion, and his generosity to others. “When you were with Jake, he made you feel like there was nothing, nor no one, more important than you.†He valued his relationships and held on to everyone who shared a part of his life. It is only fitting that this scholarship be an extension of that spirit that was Jacob Rakofsky and it continues to give, in perpetuity, to students who shared Jake’s love for Geography.
