Dr. Sally Caldwell Endowed Scholarship (SC0021)

Dr. Sally Caldwell was a popular faculty member in the Department of Sociology at Texas State University who was recognized for her dedication to teaching the subject matter of statistics to undergraduates. She was a faculty member from 2000-2014. Dr. Caldwell was committed to providing support to students and she even created a textbook fund to help students who couldn’t afford their textbooks. This scholarship, created in her memory, provides a means to help those who can demonstrate both financial need and academic success.
Recipients should meet the following requirements:
*enrolled full-time (12 hours for an undergraduate student, 9 hours as a graduate student)
*maintain a high GPA (3.0 for undergraduates and 3.5 for graduates)
*have a minimum of 15 credit hours in Sociology
*demonstrate financial need.
Applicants should submit at least one letter of recommendation from a Texas State faculty member as well as a 500-word letter of interest that includes information about their experiences as a Sociology student and discusses their financial need.
