Nelwyn B. Moore Ph.D. Endowed Presidential Scholarship (SM5103)

J. Lloyd Moore established the Nelwyn B. Moore, Ph.D. Endowed Presidential Scholarship to award scholarships to undergraduate students majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences who are pursuing careers as Family Life Educators in academic, clinical, or social service settings.
Recipients shall have an overall college-level GPA of at least 3.0 and as part of his/her application, submit an essay that discusses the value of a career as a Family Life Education and describe their community service.
Preference will be given to students majoring in Human Development and Family Sciences with Teacher Certification and then to students majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences with Teacher Certification.
If the scholarship is not awarded by March each year, students who have an approved internship with Texas AgriLife Extension Service would be eligible for the scholarship.
It is the donor’s preference that distributions provide renewable support to undergraduate students beginning in their sophomore year.
