Texas Speech Language Hearing (TSHA) Foundation Empress Zedler Scholarship (SZ6341)
The Empress Zedler Scholarship, funded by the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation, will be awarded to a first-year Master’s student from Texas State at the annual TSHA Convention. The amount of the award is approximately $900, in a check paid directly to the student and reported to the IRS as taxable income.
The Texas State student who wins the award is expected to register for and attend the TSHA Convention to receive the award. Please note that as a scholarship recipient, the student is expected to attend not only the award ceremony, but other sessions at TSHA as well, and to represent the Department of Communication Disorders and Texas State University in a responsible and appropriate manner. If sufficient funding is available from the department, the student’s conference registration and travel expenses will be covered, but this cannot be guaranteed.
The award recipient will be determined using course grades from Texas State Master’s courses in CDIS and evaluations from clinical faculty. The student with the highest score will be selected. If multiple students have exactly the same score, the recipient will be selected by a vote of the faculty. The recipient will be notified when classes resume for the spring semester.
In order to be eligible for this award, students must complete the application.
