Fred and Yetta Richan Aquatic Biology Development (SR5450)

History:
This award in given in honor of Fred and Yetta Richan to support the activities of Texas State students engaged in research and management of streams, rivers, ponds, and reservoirs.
Having worked for 32 years in fisheries management for the U.S. Department of the Interior, Mr. Richan has a strong interest in preserving our water resources. He had a close association with the faculty of the then Southwest Texas State Aquatic Biology program during his term of service at the university.

Eligibility:

  • Undergraduate student pursuing an Aquatic Biology degree or MS student pursuing Aquatic Resources or PhD student pursuing Aquatic Resources
  • TX State GPA of at least 3.0
  • Full-time enrollment
    Awards are based on ability and achievement rather than on financial need.
