Philip A. Staskus Undergraduate Geography Scholarship (SS6299)

The Philip A. Staskus Undergraduate Scholarship honors Phillip A. Staskus’ extraordinary devotion to his wife and children. One scholarship awarded each spring pending available funding and applied to the following fall.

Phillip A. Staskus was born on January 17, 1923 and died on his birthday in 1998. He was a World War II veteran and held undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Iowa. He and his wife Rosemary had six children, three of whom graduated from Texas State University.

While Phillip Staskus was an attorney by profession, he was an educator at heart. Phillip Staskus always said, “The one thing that no one can ever take away from you is your education".
