The T.V. Grayson Endowed Memorial Graduate Fellowship (SG0020)

The T.V. Grayson Endowed Memorial Graduate Fellowship in English honors the father of Nancy Grayson, Professor of English. Tom Grayson studied electrical engineering at Texas A&M-College Station. For many years, he headed the Rate Department at the West Texas Utilities Company in Abilene, and was a member of its Board of Directors. He enjoyed hunting, reading, traveling West Texas highways on business trips to towns served by WTU, and conversing with his wife Janie and daughter Nancy. He is best remembered for his sharp wit, kind heart, love of family, and strong belief in the importance of education. This Fellowship is awarded to a student in any English graduate program.

Students eligible for this scholarship will:

  • Be enrolled and complete coursework as a full time English major student each semester of the academic year for which the scholarship is held. Students graduating Fall term of the academic year for which the scholarship is held are not eligible for the scholarship.
  • Be enrolled in at least one English course each semester of the academic year for which the scholarship is held.
  • Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in the Fall in order to receive the scholarship for the Spring.
