Jeffrey A. Slomka Memorial Scholarship in Computer Science (SC0003)

Description:
In 2007, Jeffrey Slomka, ABD, a dedicated professor passed away unexpectedly. He joined the Texas State faculty in 1985 and was tenured in 1992. A valued teacher and colleague, Mr. Slomka was a three-time recipient of the Computer Science Alpha Chi National Honor Society’s “Favorite Teacher” award. In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Slomka was a teacher education advisor and an undergraduate student advisor for the department. He was one of the principal investigators for the National Science Foundation-funded La Costa grade, a three-year informal IT education program that addressed the technical, social, and economic needs of students in give South Texas high schools.

Contributions were received from friends, colleagues, and family to honor Jeffrey Slomka by establishing a fund to provide scholarship and financial assistance for students attending Texas State University.
