Celebrity Classic Endowed Scholarship (SC0011)

The Graduate College provides these scholarships to encourage students with intellectual, creative, and leadership promise to complete a master’s or doctoral degree at Texas State University.  These scholarships are available for newly admitted and continuing students.  Awards are given for up to three academic years, provided that students satisfy enrollment requirements.

AWARD AMOUNTS
Awards amounts are $1,500 per semester.  Scholarships are awarded for the academic year and disbursed on a semester basis.  These scholarships require a minimum enrollment of six semester hours of graduate level courses (5000 or above) each semester the scholarship is awarded.

DEADLINE
The scholarship application and required supporting documents must be submitted online to the Office of the Graduate College on or before FEBRUARY 1.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have been admitted to a Texas State master’s or doctoral program or have a completed application file. Applicants who will be first-time graduate students must have a 3.75 GPA on the last 60 hours of coursework leading to the bachelor’s degree. Applicants who have completed graduate level coursework must have a 3.8 GPA on prior graduate level coursework. These scholarships require a minimum enrollment of six semester hours of graduate level courses (5000 or above) and a 3.5 GPA each semester the scholarship is awarded.

Please note: You will be able to begin the scholarship application process after you are admitted. If you are seeking admission for after the the spring term, you will be able to begin the scholarship application process after your ApplyTexas application has been received by our office.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
To apply for this scholarship, the following documents arerequired when completing the online Graduate Scholarship Application for the Celebrity Classic Scholarship:
• A current resume, (two pages or less), including name, address, e-mail address, education (degrees or special certifications), professional experience, scholarship activity, awards, special recognitions, articles or presentations, selected community activity, and other information pertinent to your major.
• A 200-word essay expressing your career objectives and reasons for selecting your graduate major.
• Three letters of recommendation.  Recommendation letters should be from professional individuals familiar with your academic background and ability (including two letters from professors). Letters of recommendation submitted for previous scholarship or admissions applications will not be transferred to your current scholarship application(s). However, you can request recommendation letters from the same references through the online scholarship application system which will provide them with submission instructions.

SELECTION PROCESS
Awards will be given to the best-qualified applicants as determined by a selection committee.  The selection committee will make its recommendations to the Dean of the Graduate College, who will make the final decision.
