Kent Finlay Endowment Center for Texas Music History (SF0009)

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be either a history or Music major
  • Applicants must be current graduate or undergraduate students with a minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Preference in the awarding of this scholarship will be given to those applicants who are studying Texas Music History
  • Applicants must provide two (2) letters of recommendation from faculty members
  • Applicants are required to submit a 400-500 words essay describing how the study of history (especially Texas Music History) has enhanced the applicant’s understanding of American society and of history as a discipline
  • If applying to the Lumia Scholarship, you may use the same essay for both applications.

Finlay Scholars will be required

  • to maintain an overall and semester-by-semester GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • to enroll in at least 6 semester hours.

Failure to comply will constitute grounds for forfeiture of the Kent Finlay Scholarship.
