Study in America Scholarship - Spring (SS0110)

The Study in America Scholarship is awarded through a competitive application process open only to Texas State University undergraduate and graduate students who are participating in approved programs administered through the Study in America Office. These opportunities are distinct from inbound international study and are intended for Texas State students engaged in those official programs through Study in America only.

Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Study in America Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Students must be enrolled in a Texas State-approved Study in America program.
• Undergraduate Students: Must be enrolled at least part-time at Texas State with a minimum cumulative Texas State GPA of 2.75.
• First-Semester Transfer Students: Must have an admission GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Graduate Students: Must be enrolled at least part-time at Texas State with a minimum cumulative Texas State GPA of 3.25.

Additional Requirements:

• Students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing at Texas State.
• Students must be enrolled at Texas State during the semester prior to participating in the Study in America program.

Scholarship Criteria and Selection
Scholarships are awarded based on a point-based system and the availability of funds. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee an award, as funding is limited and applications often exceed available resources. Submissions produced by Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be disqualified.

• GPA
• Financial Need (as determined by the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office)
• First-Time Recipient
• Cost of Program

Awards
Seven (7) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in the 2027 academic year.
Scholarship awards are subject to change depending on available funds and applicant volume.
Application Periods

Study in America Semester Scholarship Application Period SIA Program Application Due
Winter/Spring 2027: Sept. 1 – Oct. 1, 2026
Summer 2027: Oct. 16, 2026 – Jan. 15, 2027
Fall 2027: March 1 – April 15, 2027

Awardees will be notified within two weeks of the SIA program application deadline. Disbursements are subject to the Financial Aid and Scholarships disbursements deadline.
