Noyce RADIANS STEM Teacher Scholarship - Undergraduate (SN0026)

The Noyce RADIANS STEM Teacher Scholarship Program is a scholarship and professional development program future secondary STEM teachers. The program accepts both undergraduate and graduate students. This application is for undergraduate students.

Scholarship recipients (“Noyce RADIANS Scholars”) receive professional development during their teacher certification program and ongoing mentoring supportduring their first two years of classroom teaching, and join a local and national community of Noyce Scholars. Scholarship recipients commit to teaching for two years in a high-needs public school district per year of funding received.

Eligibility requirements: Undergraduate scholarship recipients must:
1. Be U.S. citizens or nationals or permanent resident aliens
2. Be on track to complete their undergraduate STEM degree and secondary STEM teacher certification program at Texas State University within two years of receiving the Noyce RADIANS STEM Teacher Scholarship award
3. Have a GPA of 2.75 or above (both TXST and cumulative GPA)

Scholarship terms and conditions: Undergraduate scholarship recipients must…

  • Complete bachelor’s degree and teacher certification at TXST within two years of receiving the Noyce RADIANS STEM Teacher Scholarship
  • Maintain full-time* enrollment until completion of degree and teacher certification program (*student-teaching counts as full-time for this requirement)
  • Teach for two years in a high-needs public school district per year of scholarship funding, to be completed within 8 years of completing bachelor’s degree and teacher certification
  • Participate in monthly Saturday STEM Seminars while funded (in person at TXST, during fall and spring semesters)
  • Participate in a Peer Mentoring Network during student teaching and the first two years of classroom teaching (biweekly online meetings)
  • Maintain up-to-date contact information with RADIANS personnel
  • Respond to RADIANS emails and surveys to document teaching service, through completion of the teaching commitment

Scholars who do not meet these program requirements may be required to repay Noyce RADIANS STEM Teacher Scholarship funds.
