Delmar E. and Betty L. Tally Endowed Scholarship in Nursing (ST0045)

Julie Tally Hornberger Hart was a dedicated Registered Nurse and served as Head Nurse for the Lockhart Independent School District until her retirement. Julie is survived by her two daughters and a son, with her youngest daughter following in her footsteps as a Registered Nurse. Mr. and Mrs. Tally are establishing these scholarships in honor of Julie’s impact on and work in healthcare.

Distributions from the Delmar E. and Betty L. Tally Endowed Scholarship in Nursing shall be used to award scholarships to students pursuing their Bachelor of Science in Nursing and those who wish to continue to receive their Master of Science in Nursing in any of the programs offered.

  • Preference for recipients to have graduated from Lockhart High School(s);
  • Recipients will have a financial need;
  • Recipients for the scholarship can be eligible their freshman year and must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
  • Graduate recipients must meet the criteria needed to be accepted to the MSN program.
  • Preference for graduate students who have graduated from Lockhart High School.
  • Recipients are not required to have received their Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas State.

This scholarship was created at the bequest of Delmar E. and Betty L. Tally, parents of Julie Tally Hornberger Hart.
