Driven to Care Automotive Engineering Scholarship (SD0057)
The Footprints Foundation has established a scholarship fund for students enrolled at Texas State University. This scholarship honors the memory and legacy of John Weinberger and provides scholarship to students who demonstrate a strong alignment with the values of John Weinberger. The purpose of the fund shall be to provide scholarships and financial assistance for students who meet the criteria below.
Criteria
- Recipient will have a financial need;
- Must be an Engineering student in good standing and affiliated with Texas State Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) team, Bobcat Racing; and,
- Incoming freshmen may be considered for a Driven to Care scholarship if they have participated in an automotive program in high school.
Administration of the scholarship:
- Applicants are encouraged to learn about John Weinberger’s life and learn about his career by watching this video – Life and Times of John Weinberger.
- Applicants must provide a 400-500 word essay describing their passion for the automotive industry and discuss how their values align with the principles that John Weinberger exemplified, such as integrity, passion, work ethic, and teamwork. Applicants must Include in their essay how they plan to incorporate these values into their future career within the industry.
- Recipients may re-apply if they have a 3.0 GPA to receive the scholarship for more than one year.
