Griffin Family Endowed Scholarship (SG5061)

History
On October 10, 2013, Richard Griffin learned his family’s house burned to the ground and most of the family’s possessions were lost. That same evening, his mother (the matriarch of the family), was diagnosed with cancer – a battle she fought valiantly until April of the following year. In the aftermath of losing the matriarch of his family along with his childhood home and possessions, his perspective on life was changed forever.
The Griffin Family Endowed Scholarship is to honor his mother who motivated Richard to make a lasting impact on others, as she did for him, and to support those who face similar challenges while pursuing their education at Texas State.
