Betty Jane (Robbins) Bendall Alpha Xi Delta Memorial Endowed (SB0053)
Thomas “Randy” Bendall established a permanent endowment, the Betty Jane (Robbins) Bendall Alpha Xi Delta Memorial Endowed Scholarship. Betty Jane (Robbins) Bendall was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1968 from Southwest Texas State University (SWT) and was an elementary school teacher for 20 years in Clute and Lake Jackson. While at SWT, she was a proud member of Alpha Xi Delta. She developed lifelong friendships and attended reunions. This scholarship is established by Betty’s husband, Randy, to honor her legacy at Texas State University. They were married for 48 years and have two sons, Jeffrey and Matthew.
Distributions from the endowment shall be used to award scholarships to undergraduate students(s) attending Texas State University using the below criteria.
• Recipient(s) must be a member of the Alpha Xi Delta chapter at Texas State;
• Recipient(s) must be in good standing with Alpha Xi Delta and with the university;
• Strong preference for recipient(s) enrolled in the College of Education, and if applicable, preference for recipient(s) pursuing teacher education;
• Preference for recipient(s) who is an upperclassman; and
• Preference for a recipient(s) who demonstrates financial need.
