The Bruce Lee Augustin Undergraduate Geography Scholarship honors Bruce L. Augustin, a senior geography major who lost his life in an automobile accident. The scholarship will help other students who wish to pursue the career in geography that Bruce was unable to complete.

Bruce Lee Augustin was born on December 22, 1941 and died in a tragic car accident on October 1, 1962. At the time of his death, he was a senior geography major at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska. Academic scholarships made it possible for Bruce to go to college, and his family feels that he would have wanted to participate in giving back some of what others shared with him. He loved to learn and he especially loved field studies in geography. Travel was a passion for him, and geography helped light that passion.
