Description:
This endowed scholarship was established to honor the late Mrs. Bounita Favorite for her service, professionalism, and contributions to the field of polymers engineering. Mrs. Favorite was born in Villa Platte, Louisiana in 1949 and graduated from James Stephens High School in 1967. After high school, Mrs. Favorite enrolled in Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA. Mrs. Favorite graduate in December 1971 from Southern University with a Bachelor degree in Food Science and Nutrition. Mrs. Favorite enjoyed a successful 40-year career as a senior sales representative at Chemtura Corporation.
Selection criteria:
- All undergraduate and graduate College of Science and Engineering majors interested in polymer research
- Students may be part-time or full-time (full-time preferred, but exceptions may be made for last semester students who may not need to be full-time to complete the requirements for graduation)
