Michael Peter Macaluso Endowed Scholarship (SM6432)

Jim and Mary Pendergast made a donation to the Texas State Development Foundation to establish a permanent endowment, the Michael Peter Macaluso Endowed Scholarship Fund in 1996. Mike Macaluso, the brother of Mary Pendergast, loved his adopted state of Texas and all things Texan. The Pendergasts established this endowed scholarship for full-time juniors and seniors pursuing a minor in Southwestern Studies to honor his memory. Additional contributions have continued by colleagues, friends, and family.

One scholarship in the amount of $1,200 minimum will be awarded annually; the application deadline is February 1st.

Eligibility and scholarship criteria include:
• being a declared Southwestern Studies minor;
• being a full-time junior or senior at Texas State;
• having a minimum 3.0 overall GPA; and
• submitting a completed application
