Zach A. Howard and Kristen A. Scholer Scholarship (SS0071)

The Zach A. Howard and Kristin A. Scholer Scholarship was established to support students who are bearing the financial responsibility that comes with pursing a degree in higher education. One scholarship is awarded each spring pending available funding and applied to the following fall.
Kristin and Zach attended Texas State University, bearing the financial responsibility that comes with pursuing higher education. Having struggled through this, in addition to Zach being a non-traditional student, scholarships were welcomed relief.

Understanding there are many students dealing with the same struggles, this scholarship seeks to support non-traditional students who are working their way through college.

Eligibility:

• be declared an undergraduate or graduate Geography major
• possess a 2.75 Texas State GPA
• be enrolled full time (12 hours UG; 9 hours GR) in the Fall semester
• submit an essay (maximum 1 page) on how the award will help him/her achieve their degree in Geography and how he/she wants to apply their education to his/her career.
