Terry Foundation Scholarship (ST5180)

The Terry Foundation provides full-ride scholarships that are renewable for up to four years to Texas high school students. These students are selected from a highly competitive pool of incoming freshmen who have excelled in academics, leadership, and character. This scholarship also considers financial need.
Applicants for this award who meet all eligibility criteria as determined by an initial screening by Texas State will be required to submit one letter of recommendation, which needs to be from a high school teacher, counselor, or administrator. Finalists for this award will be required to attend an interview with the Terry Foundation to be held in early April. All final award selections are made by the Terry Foundation.
To be considered for the Terry Foundation Scholarship, applicants must demonstrate the following:
- Proven leadership in their school or community
- Financial need and complete the FAFSA by priority deadline
- Strong academic record (grades, class rank, etc. SAT/ACT scores are not required.)
- Graduation from a Texas high school
- Full-time enrollment at Texas State University
- Living on campus during the first year of the scholarship as part of the Terry Scholars Learning Community

If you are home-schooled, letters from community members who can attest to your achievements will be acceptable. The recommender will be asked to login to the BOSS system using the e-mail address you provide here and upload the letter of recommendation. We can accept physical or electronic signatures on official letterhead.
