Sue E. Biedermann Scholarship (SB5680)

The College of Health Professions faculty and staff established this scholarship fund to honor the work and service of Sue E. Biedermann. This scholarship will be awarded to either an undergraduate or graduate student who has been admitted to the Health Information Management major. The student must have completed at least 12 hours as an undergraduate or 6 hours as a graduate student at Texas State University with a minimum Texas State GPA of 3.0.

Ms. Biedermann, MSHP, RHIA, FAHIMA is an Associate Professor Emeritus and the former Chair of the Health Information Management Department at Texas State University. Under her leadership, Texas State started offering an online HIM program in 2000. She previously served as the Director of the HIM Department at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Victoria, TX. She has held leadership positions in TxHIMA and AHIMA, as well as an HIM consultant in long term care, small hospitals, and at accredited HIT/HIAprograms. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Medical Record Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science in Health Administration from Texas State University. Mrs. Biedermann has also authored several books, book chapters, and articles.
