Stanley C. Israel Memorial Endowment (SI6137)

Mrs. Sonja Israel established the Stanley C. Israel Memorial Endowment to honor her late husband, Dr. Stanley C. Israel. Dr. Israel was Dean of the College of Science at Texas State University from September 1997 – November 2003.
This scholarship will be awarded to a freshman undergraduate student majoring in the College of Science and Engineering.

Incoming freshman are invited to apply for the Stanley C. Israel Memorial Scholarship if they participated in one of the following:

  • Texas Science and Engineering Fair or one of the associated Texas Science and Engineering Regional fairs:
    • Austin Energy Regional Science Festival
    • Rio Grande Valley Regional Science and Engineering Fair
    • Coastal Bend Regional Science Fair
    • Beal Bank Dallas Regional Science and Engineering Fair
    • Sun Country Science Fair
    • Fort Worth Regional Science and Engineering Fair
    • Science Engineering Fair of Houston
    • East Texas Regional Science Fair
    • United Independent School District Regional Science Fair
    • South Plains Regional Science and Engineering Fair
    • Permian Basin Regional Science Fair
    • Alamo Regional Science and Engineering Fair
    • Central Texas Science and Engineering Fair

Applicants must be full-time students and must have competed in one of the above named science and engineering fairs.

Scholarship recipients must be a declared major in the College of Science and Engineering.

The award will be credited towards the recipient’s tuition/fees in the fall semester of their freshman year.
