The Arun Raman Memorial Scholarship (SR0018)
Arun Raman graduated from Texas State University in 2018 with an MA in Rhetoric and Composition. He taught English 1310 and English 1320 while part pursuing his MARC degree. Arun was working on his PhD in Developmental Education at Texas State University. He was greatly admired by everyone who worked with him—his professors, his peers, and his own students. Arun was a loving and caring son, husband, father, brother, nephew, uncle, colleague, student, and friend.
The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support to students with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity. Criteria for recipients are as follows:
- Recipients must be a doctoral student either starting or continuing their degree in Developmental Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
- Preference is for recipients with a concentration in Developmental Literacy.
- Recipients must demonstrate academic merit.
- Preference is for recipients whose research or scholarly work contributes to advancements in diversity, inclusion, and equity.
