Larry Whittington Endowment (SL0018)

The Larry Whittington Endowment was established by Mr. Whittington’s children, Keith Whittington and Tracey Storey, in honor of their father.

Lawrence (“Larry”) E. Whittington grew up in Natalia, Texas, in the years after World War II. A first-generation college student, he met and married his wife while a student at what was then the Southwest Texas State College. He received a B.S. in Chemistry in 1965 and a M.S. in Chemistry in 1966 and went on to a career as a research chemist in private industry, primarily in oil and gas. He is a believer in the power of education to improve the conditions of individuals and their families and of science and technology to improve the well-being of the country and humanity.
