John Keating Maher Presidential Endowed Scholarship (SM6180)

Introduction:
The Maher President’s Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to one or more outstanding junior or senior students majoring in manufacturing within the Department of Engineering Technology. This includes students with a major in Engineering Technology with specialization in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering and Technology Management students with a concentration in Manufacturing.

Background:
The endowment from which the scholarship is derived was established in 1984 by Dorothy Maher and Pure Casting Company, Inc. in memory of Mr. John Keating Maher, founder of “Pure Casting Company, Inc.” of Austin.

Basic Qualifications:

• TX State GPA of 2.50 or above
• Major GPA of 3.00 or above
• Must be one of the following majors:
  Engineering Technology – Manufacturing Engineering Technology Specialization
  Engineering Technology – Mechanical Engineering Technology Specialization
  Technology Management – Manufacturing Engineering Technology Specialization
• Must have completed 60 credit hours
• Active Texas State SME member preferred
• Must have a financial need

This scholarship award to the student’s Fall 2023 account. Students graduating in spring 2023 or summer 2023 are not eligible.
