C. Williams Scholarship (SW0022)
Chuck Williams, LTC, USA (RET) is establishing the C. Williams Scholarship to financially assist students who attend Texas State University and who are participating in the Army ROTC Program.
Army ROTC is a college elective that focuses on leadership and management training. Texas State University’s Army ROTC offers students the opportunity to learn and grow in a variety of ways. The program of instruction challenges each cadet in the battalion in both indoor and outdoor settings; cadets participate in classroom instruction while also engaging in world class physical fitness training, and land navigation, marksmanship, rappelling and other military activities. Cadets learn management and leadership skills not available in other University programs that contributes to a variety of job skills applicable to any profession, career or job, while instilling in each cadet a sense of confidence, discipline and personal responsibility.
Moreover, each cadet gains the satisfaction of being part of a select group of great Americans dedicated to American values and service to the nation. The following are the terms and conditions for the establishment of the fund.
The purpose of the fund shall be to provide scholarships and financial assistance for students attending Texas State University who meet the criteria. Criteria for recipients follow:
- Recipient must be enrolled in the Army ROTC Program;
- It is the donor’s preference that two recipients be selected to receive the scholarship each year;
- Recipient can be of any undergraduate classification attending full-time (12 hrs); and,
- Be in good standing with financial need.
