Susan Dudolski Memorial Scholarship (SD0023)

In May 2017, gift contributions were received to establish a fund to provide a scholarship and financial assistance for students attending Texas State University in memory of Susan L. Dudolski, Associate Director of Housing and Residential Life (2009-2017). Susan Lynn Dudolski passed away on April 3, 2017 in San Marcos, Texas at the age of 52. Susan’s Residence Halls roots began at Western Illinois University as a Resident Assistant and began her position at Illinois State University as a Residence Hall Director and then Area Coordinator. Susan’s career brought her to Texas State University as the Associate Director of Housing and Residential Life in 2009 where she served in this role until she passed in 2017.

Texas State gave Susan a home away from home. Her colleagues were her work family and she took pride in the accomplishments of our students. Susan never settled for “good enough” and loved that Texas State gave her a place where she could challenge to always do better and she felt that in her colleagues too. Susan had a passion for social justice and equality for all. She was an advocate for those who had no voice, helped empower people by embracing their strengths, and demonstrated her passion through her work in developing community within Housing and Residential Life.

This scholarship in her memory will be awarded annually to students who attend Texas State University and meet the criteria as follows:

  • Current continuing undergraduate student attending full-time (at least 12 credits) and in good standing that is serving in a Housing and Residential Life position and/or actively involved in the residence halls; and/or
  • Current continuing graduate student pursuing a Master of Education in Student Affairs in Higher Education.
  • Additional consideration may be given to applicants who have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or above and demonstrated campus leadership positions attained and have at least one year remaining in their educational pursuit.
