The Mary Rose Brown Endowed Scholarship (SB5029)

The Mary Rose Brown Endowed Scholarship is for undergraduate students majoring in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. This is a $10,000 scholarship for first generation students, renewable for four-years. Scholarship recipients are known as Mary Rose Brown Scholars.

Renewal criteria for the Mary Rose Brown Scholars include:
- Maintain a 2.5 cumulative Texas State GPA
- Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours in each long semester and remain in good standing with the university
- Must major in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication
- Must attend School of Journalism and Mass Communication career and advisory board events
